3 Dead, 40 Injured as truck falls into a cliff


Three people were killed and 40 others were injured when an Isuzu Elf truck lost its brakes and fell into a cliff in Barangay Lara, City of San Fernando, on Sunday afternoon. Police identified the fatalities as Gregorio Goraspe, Pualito Dizon and Loreta Dizon—two of the victims were father and daughter.

The victims were likely relatives, they were going home from a customary outing to a festival. They are mostly seated in the back of the truck. According to the driver, Christopher Navarru, he lost control of the vehicle he was driving. Navarro said, “Hindi ko naman po alam, hindi ko sinadya na ganoon ang mangyayari. Kasi hindi ko naman alam na maaksidente kami.” The suspect is now in the custody of the San Fernando police.

4 Dead in Grenade Blast at San Fernando Establishment

Four people were killed after a grenade was thrown at a commercial establishment in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, last night. Three of the victims were identified as Jaypee Banal, Rusty Bonus and Andy Del Rosario. According to the police, the victims were rushed to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital where the fatalities were declared dead on arrival. Pampanga Police Officer Commander Col. Carlito Magno said that the authorities arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. The suspect was identified as Nino Ronquillo, 22 years old, residing at 152 Santisima Trinidad Village in Bacolor. Investigators reported that Ronquillo allegedly hurled the grenade to avoid police arrest after being pursued for alleged robbery of one Joshua Nonoy, he is now under police custody.
